“Ronnie! Ronnie, wake up!”

I groaned the next morning, feeling someone shaking me from a deep sleep. What time was it? When I heard my name called again, I forced my eyes open and took notice of Aisha’s troubled expression.

“What is it?” I got out in a sleepy voice before a yawn broke loose. “What’s going on?”

“Wake up, we have a problem!”

I shook what was left of the sleep clogging my brain then focused on Aisha, who was still in her pajamas. I heard frantic footsteps and voices coming from the hallway. I was awake now.

“What? What happened?” I asked, sitting up in bed.

Aisha frowned. “Someone from our first year class is missing. That girl, Jacqueline. She’s gone.”
